Double Double #37

Goodness me what a busy week, we’ve barely seen or spoken to each other as we’ve both been working so hard, but we’ve had a fab weekend catching up. What better way to get an insight into our lives than 10 minutes spent with us!

Two things you’ve done this week?

JK: I had my leaving do at work, and watched the England football team break hearts (and the Lightning Seeds play) in Hyde Park with 30,000 people.

THB: Spent the week in Devon at my favourite studio in the world recording new Slowlines songs, and went to some amazing gigs in Hyde Park this weekend!

Two things that were great this week?

JK: Bruno Mars was magnificent in Hyde Park, and Paul Simon was unforgettable – so glad we got the chance to see him on his final tour. Also, taking 210 kids to Cuckmere Haven, for some of them the first time they’ve seen the sea was amazing.

THB: The experience of eating, sleeping, and breathing music all week, and seeing Paul Simon at Hyde park this evening.

Two challenges you faced?

JK: The workload has not yet relented, which is why we’ve been quiet on here and socials, and trying to remember to do everything at the right time (people’s birthdays, social engagements, deadlines, call my parents etc)

THB: Being apart from JK all week as she is the only human I have ever met that I love as much as music! Maintaing focus and creative vision in the studio when you’re listening to the same songs for 12-14 hours a day.

Two things to add to your to-do list next week?

JK: Make sure I don’t get too sentimental in my final full week of work, and try to get some funding to fully sort out my PhD studies next year!

THB: Be there for Jk as much as possible in this extremely busy and potentially emotionally challenging week, and making sure the final mixes of these songs are perfect and getting them out to all the right people asap!
