Double double #12

We are now at that time of the new year where everyone is settling back into work, strapped for cash, and still bloated. As well as enjoying good food and art in our home city, we’re using the rest of the month to get some serious planning in for our trips and date days for the spring in.

What better way to get an insight into each other’s weeks than to spend 10 minutes with each other talking about the Double Double, done by us both!

Two things you’ve done this week?
JK: Work and seeing friends at the weekend.
THB: I had a very exciting meeting with guys that I may start playing some music with in the near future, and played a pretty good show with my band Slowlights in Guildford of all places!

Two things that were great this week?
JK: Having a vegan wagamamas katsu curry (the seitan one) and all you can eat pizza!
THB: Hearing one of my band’s songs getting played TWICE at Vicarage Road stadium, home of our team Watford FC! Absolutely unreal feeling hearing our music played in a packed stadium at half time. We went to a pizza restaurant called Homeslice where it was all you could eat pizza and cheap cocktails!

Two challenges you faced?
JK: Not quite having enough hours in the day and trying to find funding for my PhD.
THB: Dealing with an unfortunate legal situation regarding by band and a trademarking issue, hopefully resolving it without having to resort to lawyers, never fun. Helping Jess deal with the unbelievable pressures and workloads teachers are under in this country, and trying to do all I can to support her.

Two things to add to your to-do list next week?
JK: Plan our weekend day trip and make sure I’m on top of work.
THB: Make time for music! I have a lot of writing and learning to do. Read more.
